Your Private Information
Split postage depends on you providing to us the names and email addresses of people you know in order to to save on the cost of shipping from Amazon. We will under no circumstance pass on, sell or provide that information to any other third party, organisation or person.
Accuracy of Item Prices
We use Amazon's Product Advertising API to determine the price of items added to your list, Amazon can however change the prices of items. Although we endeavour to keep your list prices up-to-date, efficiency guidelines for use of the API means that we must restrict the frequency of automatic price updates in your list to every 12 hours. There is a chance that on checkout some list item prices may have changed or become unavailable, we disclaim any liability under this circumstance.
Accuracy of Shipping Costs
Unfortunately we have to manually track shipping costs to 240 countries from Amazon. In addition we can only estimate per item shipping costs for books, CDs, and DVDs. In particular some bulky items may significantly increase the cost of shipping, these are hard to estimate. We are doing our best to calculate an accurate representation of the total shipping costs you face, and we will endeavour to improve it. The final shipping cost will be calculated by Amazon on checkout. We disclaim any liability for a discrepancy between the shipping prices on Split Postage and those calculated by Amazon on checkout.
Checkout and Delivery from Amazon
When checking out from Split Postage, we create a remote Amazon shopping cart and forward you onwards to complete the process. We have no control over that experience, and cannot be held liable for your transaction with Amazon or the subsequent delivery of your order. In addition, we unfortunately cannot automatically select your nominated shipping method, it is up to you to select the correct shipping method during the Amazon checkout process. We disclaim any liability under the circumstance that the correct shipping method is not selected on Amazon.
Splitting Costs with Others
Split Postage's effectiveness relies on one person in the list performing a checkout on Amazon on behalf of all list participants. The distribution of the items purchased once delivered and the reimbursing of the person who checked out by the list participants is out of our control. We disclaim any liability in the case that people are not reimbursed or items not distributed to their rightful owners.
